Toddler Room
Our Day Nursery for over 2’s benefits from the same combination of child-led and creative play and as our blooming toddlers begin to move through to the preschool curriculum we begin to gently introduce a little more structure and routine. This school readiness approach to get our youngsters ready for the next step in their exciting learning journeys – ‘big school’.Our designated areas in the bright, well designed rooms are well-resourced with equipment and materials to help developing minds progress literacy and writing skills, mathematical and problem-solving skills and technology too. We incorporate fun into everything we do and strive to maximise the potential of every child in our care by providing an individual approach to learning.The over 2’s at Wickersley Nursery enjoy their own garden space complete with hills, sandpits, a mud kitchen and quiet spaces for children to create and explore.As our babies develop into toddlers they begin to challenge their physical development and there’s plenty of time for rhyme time, water play, singing and the exciting activities we offer to comply with the EYFS statutory framework. Here the Early Years team focuses on communication and early language, literacy and numeracy skills. We very much see ourselves as a community nursery and we make sure that the children are exposed to their surroundings and the world around them. We enjoy weekly visits to the nearby parks and trips to the local areas of interest to consolidate learning themes.
